Turning 17 during a pandemic....
It’s hard to imagine that Bare Collection is celebrating its 17th year in business this June—in a pandemic no less! I’m definitely raising a teenager… Obviously, this isn’t the best time to launch a campaign of any sort, but Covid-19 has limited our retailers’ operations and a mailing list snafu deleted 80% of 17 years worth of customer emails, so here we are. Years of campaigning to reduce waste, minimize plastic consumption, support brick-and-mortar during the online shift, and focus my personal purchasing power on small businesses have taught me that individual efforts make a HUGE difference. Please help me by opting-in!
While jewelry is a luxury, the right piece grounds and gives us strength. It reminds us that we love and are loved; that creating memories and having aspiration fuels us.
Our May newsletter will cover the basics of jewelry care. Sorting, cleaning, and organizing my jewelry is both meditative and restorative. I revisit moments that led to purchases or memories formed while wearing them. The bonus is that when I’m done, I’m inspired to make small, but meaningful shifts in my wardrobe and life.
I would love your support in making this email spread like those ubiquitous recipe exchanges, but hopefully with more success. Please forward this note to friends, family, and close colleagues who might like to receive information about new collections, our monthly newsletter on all things jewelry and home, and insider access to our annual archive/sample sale. Both you and them can opt-into my mailing list using the link above.
As a thank you for helping my small business pivot during these challenging times, I am launching a three part 17th anniversary celebration:
- Supporting Covid-19 Relief: Between now and Mother’s Day (May 10), 30% of our proceeds through any channel (barecollection.com or Bare retailers) will be donated to the World Central Kitchen, a not-for-profit ensuring that children, families, seniors, and front-line health workers receive emergency food relief efforts. If you purchase Bare through one of our vendors, please forward confirmation of purchase or a screen grab to me using jeet@barecollection.com.
- Sample Sales for Planned Parenthood: Our annual archive sale will be happening online for the first time. Subscribe and you’ll receive a 24hr window to shop all of our collections: Bare Bones, Bare Fine Jewelry and discontinued Bare Bags. I’m busy making our archived teardrop earrings, recently worn by Janelle Monae, Nicole Richie on her new Quibi show, and Katy Perry on American Idol just for this occasion. 100% of proceeds from this sale will go to Planned Parenthood. I debated long and hard about supporting a food bank vs planned parenthood and landed on PP since so many states are using this pandemic to eliminate access to comprehensive reproductive care for women.
- Sending Sparkle to the Front Lines: Bare is raffling off our 14K rose gold “twinkle rings” to celebrate front-line workers! While we are a small brand, we still have the power to send some sparkle to loved ones on the front-lines. To enter the raffle, follow @bare_collection on Instagram and DM us about someone you would like to send a little sparkle. (We have 25 rings allocated for this raffle, so act fast.)
With love,
Jeet Sohal
